The Seventeenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial
Performance recommends that Judge C. Scott Crabtree
BE RETAINED.
Judge Crabtree was appointed to the bench in the Seventeenth Judicial
District in July 2001. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge
Crabtree had a general law practice with an emphasis on civil litigation.
Judge Crabtree has presided in domestic relations and criminal court
since his appointment.
The Commission reviewed written survey evaluations of Judge Crabtree
from attorneys and non-attorneys, including written comments. The
Commission reviewed Judge Crabtree's written self-evaluation and
conducted a personal interview with Judge Crabtree.
Judge Crabtree is the Treasurer of the Colorado District Judges
Association and the Trial Judges Council for 2003-2004. He undertakes
speaking opportunities to address civic groups such as Kiwanis and
Rotary. He believes that public service is a part of being a judge.
Judge Crabtree received a retention recommendation of 89% in favor
of retention and 4% not in favor of retention and 6% undecided from
attorneys. He received a retention recommendation of 54% in favor
of retention and 37% not in favor of retention and 10% undecided
from non-attorneys.
