The Seventeenth Judicial District on Judicial Performance
recommends that Judge Randall J. Davis BE RETAINED.
After serving as an Adams County Magistrate for 14 years, Judge
Davis was appointed as the Broomfield County Court Judge in November
2001. As the sole judge in Broomfield, Judge Davis is responsible
for civil, misdemeanor, felony criminal, traffic and juvenile cases.
The State of Colorado recently commissioned a survey of attorneys
and non-attorneys that have appeared in Judge Davis' courtroom.
The results indicate that 97% of responding attorneys and 90% of
responding non-attorneys (including plaintiffs, defendants, jurors,
law enforcement and crime victims) recommend Judge Davis be retained.
Judge Davis generally scored at or above the average for all county
court and district court judges on each of the 71 survey questions.
Non-attorneys generally rated him slightly higher than did attorneys.
The Seventeenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance
interviewed Judge Davis to discuss his performance and the survey
results. The Commission concurs with the majority of survey comments
that Judge Davis is professional, intelligent, thoughtful, fair
and courteous. The Commission therefore recommends that Judge Davis
be retained.
