The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial
Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Alex Bencze
BE RETAINED.
Judge Bencze graduated from Indiana University in 1976 and law
school at Denver University in 1979. He served as a deputy state
public defender for three (3) years prior to private practice. In
December, 1993, he served as a District Court Magistrate until he
was appointed to the County Court bench on August 21, 1998.
A large majority of attorneys, 96%, recommended the Judge Bencze
be retained. The survey of non-attorneys, including jurors, law
enforcement officers and court personnel, 86% recommended that he
be retained.
