The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Christopher Charles Cross BE RETAINED. In 1974, Judge Cross graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio; and, in 1979, he graduated from the University of Denver School of Law. He has been an Arapahoe County Court Judge for more than 6 years. His court docket consists primarily of criminal cases. Attorneys and non-attorneys alike gave Judge Cross high ratings. Attorneys gave him a 98% retention recommendation and non-attorneys gave him a 96% retention recommendation. The ratings are supported by favorable comments from nearly all individuals surveyed. Judge Cross has received many comments that he is knowledgeable,
very intelligent, and fair. However, 4 years ago the commission
reported that he appeared to rush court procedures or was aggressive
to the point some observers thought Judge Cross was not giving both
sides a fair hearing. As he committed to the commission 4 years
ago, the judge continues to improve on these particular shortcomings. |
