The Eighteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial
Performance unanimously recommends that Judge Timothy L. Fasing
BE RETAINED.
In 1970, Judge Fasing graduated from the University of Minnesota;
and, in 1975, he graduated from the University of Colorado School
of Law. He has been a judge for 14 years, the first 4 years spent
as an Arapahoe County Court Judge. As a District Judge, he has a
"mixed docket" managing civil cases about 50% of the time
and felony criminal cases 50% of the time.
Some of the attorneys and non-attorneys surveyed criticized Judge
Fasing's case management as being on the slow side. Some explained
that this was due to his methodical approach to the facts and the
law. However, Judge Fasing was made aware of the Commission's concern
6 years ago; and he understands the importance of correcting the
misperception that what appears as delay is often being spent on
legal research and urgent judicial matters being handled out of
his courtroom.
Judge Fasing received an 87% retention recommendation from attorneys
and an 87% retention recommendation from non-attorneys.
